Welcome to Shanghai Eats, a hidden gem in Flushing, NY offering authentic Shanghainese cuisine. Located at 44-10 Kissena Blvd, this restaurant provides a cozy ambiance and a range of delicious dishes for your comfort food cravings.
Customer reviews rave about the crispy and juicy 生煎包s, flavorful beef noodle stew, and the must-try sheng jian bao. The pan fried dumplings are a standout, with customers praising their authenticity and juiciness.
While the lion head meatballs may be hit or miss, the Shanghai Noods and soup dumplings are highly recommended. The restaurant also offers a unique dish - the crab rice, with crab juice in the rice and extra crab on the side.
Service at Shanghai Eats is friendly, with attentive waitstaff ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant's diverse menu, comfortable seating options, and the infamous sheng jian bao make it a must-visit spot for Shanghainese cuisine enthusiasts.
Hidden gem in flushing! Such a great spot for shanghainese comfort food. The 生煎包s were some of the crispiest I've had in NYC. They were also super juicy! Beef noodle stew had great noodle texture, but just wished the stew and noodles had more flavor.
Food and service was good. Ambiance is chill. Had hilarious moment with a little kid near by. Waitress made sure we always had tea and was friendly. Waitress whispering conspiratory like, "You want some lobster?". Asking only the thick chick here. Guess who got the lobster? Meeeeeeeeee!
Very authentic and juicy Shanghainese sheng jian bao. The smoked fish and beef in scallion cakes were good, but the lion head meatballs were so so.
Comfort food for a chilly day. Service is great, food came out quickly. Love their soup dumplings and fried buns, very juicy. Ordered a dish of veggie as well.
This small restaurant that's located on a stretch of Kissena Blvd that's "run down" is actually quite good. Passed by it a bunch of times and finally decided to try it out. The soup dumps (only come in an order of 4) were solid. The Shanghai Noods were also on point. The place is clean and the service is good.
Taste super authentic to the food in Shanghai and you have to get the pan fried dumplings!! Highly recommend this place!!
HANDS DOWN THE BEST SHENG JIAN BAO in town!! This spot & panbao 66 sheng jian bao// pan fried pork buns are chef kiss. But shanghai eats is def bigger and juicier We got a wide range of dishes here and everything else was mediocre so I wouldn't really get anything else Price range here is def higher compared to others in the area because they give a smaller portion too Other dishes: - Pork soup dumplings 4.5/5: this was super yummy here!! - Crab meat soup dumplings 4/5 - mala beef 3.5/5 - taiwanese porkchop 2/5: super bland -double cook pork 3/5: also not much taste - mala wontons 2/5: skip this - super bland and too much veggies - wontons in soup 2.5/5 - beef stew noodle soup 3.5/5: I def had better but soup broth itself is not bad Service was kind of non existent here so don't have high expectations there - they would immediately take away dishes once you take the last thing on the plate without asking you if you're still working on it You will have a much better experience if you just get the pan fried buns
Wow I love this place. Not sure what the bad reviews are about. Their pan fried soup dumplings are soooo good!!! Service was great too, so friendly and nice! Also had their soup dumplings - they were pretty standard crab and pork ones. The crab rice (not on the menu but on the pictures on the wall!) is SOOOO GOOD!!!! The rice has crab juice in it already and they give you even MORE crab on the side to pour into it. I LOVED THIS.
Come for the sheng jian bao. That is all. ... A couple friends were in town and came from Philly specifically for these pan fried soup dumplings. We got 6 orders of the sheng jian bao and wow I almost wanted to order one more. The baos contain so much soup in each one. Super delicious and the sweetness and richness of the soup goes really well with a little bit of added vinegar. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I will say, the quality control of the baos vary. Some of the bottoms were barely crispy, while others were perfect. But at the end of the day, if you order multiple plates you will get mostly good quality baos. If only I lived closer, I would come here every week!
